Award of Excellence for the Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso 2017 DOC Friuli Colli Orientali. The 2019 harvest could not have started in a better way in Bellazoia. The “The WineHunter Award” Diploma is an important recognition of a wine’s quality, and for three decades has been a benchmark for consumers, as well as for distributors committed to offering products of quality.
“The ingredients of this success are the generous terroir, the low yields this year due to various factors, and the daily commitment of the whole Tenimenti Civa team, who not only focus their efforts on the production of quality wines but are attentive to environmental sustainability,” commented Valerio Civa on the award received. “Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso gives wines of excellent quality when grown in the hills, but offers unmistakable expressive complexity also on the plains.”
Refosco grapes are extremely rich in pigments (anthocyanins) that defy time, providing wines that can age well while maintaining character and intensity. The 2017 vintage also boasts imposing tannic backbone, which combines with the colouring substances to create an excellently balanced wine with good ageing potential.
The label bears the old design with its beautiful combination of copper on white depicting the Bellazoia hill. The new packaging is characterized not only by the different shape of the bottle, with the initials TC to recall the name of the Tenimenti Civa brand, but by a label with colours – black on white – and a typeface in line with the winery’s brand identity.
