Tenimenti Civa and its top wines in an article at Cronachedigusto.it

The food and wine newspaper Cronachedigustoit has dedicated an interesting article to the Friulan winery – I vini dei Colli Orientali del Friuli: la nostra “passeggiata” insieme all’azienda Civa – by the journalist Marco Sciarrini, who also talks about the wines from the two top lines: Collezione Privata and Vigneto Bellazoia.  The tasting took place in Rome on 12 June, on the occasion of the event dedicated to Tenimenti Civa, and organized by Bibenda at the Rome Cavalieri.

The many participants in the event expressed great enthusiasm for the Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso 2017 Vigneto Bellazoia, of which only 1333 bottles were produced. This was Sciarrini’s comment on the wine:

“Friuli Colli Orientali Refosco Dal Peduncolo Rosso Vigneto Bellazoia 2017
Refosco dal peduncolo rosso. Intense ruby red with a slight purple-tinged hue, and a characteristic nose of blackcurrant, raspberry and wild blackberry against a rich backdrop of black olives and delicate vanilla. The palate shows a perfect balance between body, alcoholic warmth, richness of flavour and freshness. Although up-front, the tannins are velvety, and the richly-nuanced palate shows notes of balsam and liquorice. The blend is of two vintages of Refosco with three different types of ageing and in different percentages, with maturation in French and American oak for 18 months. Destined for long ageing.”
